A fine grater, like a microplane.
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1⁄4 inch fresh ginger root, finely grated
- 2 cups sparkling mineral water (Preferred brand: Gerolsteiner Mineral Water)
- Sweetener to taste (Suggested: honey, maple syrup, monk fruit sweetener)
Zest one lemon using your fine grater. Juice the zested lemon into a jar. Grate the ginger root using your fine grater (it should turn into a juicy pulp). Add the grated ginger and lemon zest to the lemon juice. Pour 2 cups of sparkling water over the mixture. Sweeten to taste by adding your sweetener of choice and gently stir with a spoon.
Enjoy with ice.
If you don’t like pulp in your drink, you can strain the lemon/ginger/mineral water mixture through a fine sieve before you add sweetener.
