Plant-Based Burgers, Fries and "Ginger Ale"

Make your own health plant-based burger and fries at home!

A healthy twist on the old classic...

Plant-Based Burger

Ingredients: 

15 oz. can black beans (Preferred Brand: Eden Black Beans)

2/3 cup rolled oats (Preferred Brand: Bob’s Red Mill Organic)

1/4 cup onion, minced 

3 scallions, chopped 

1 tablespoon jalapeño, minced 

1/2 cup chopped parsley 

5 tablespoons BBQ sauce (Preferred Brand: Primal Kitchen BBQ Sauce) 

1/4 tsp. Salt 

1/4 tsp. Pepper 

Instructions:

Drain black beans and mash in a bowl using the back of a fork. Add in all other ingredients, mix until well combined. Form the mixture into 4 patties. Add a spoonful of coconut oil to a frying pan, warm to medium heat. Place your patties (as many as you can fit) into the hot pan. Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip to cook the other side. Serve on a burger bun (Preferred Brand: Food for Life Ezekiel Sprouted Grains Burger Buns) or wrapped in lettuce. Dress with your favorite condiments. Enjoy with a side of fries and a cool glass of ginger ale!

Crispy Baked Fries

Ingredients: 

2 medium Potatoes 

1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil 

¼ tsp. Garlic Powder 

¼ tsp. Onion Powder 

¼ tsp. Paprika 

Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut potatoes into strips. Lightly coat potato strips in oil. Season with spices. Roast in oven for 30-45 minutes until golden brown, tossing every 15 minutes. Allow to cool and enjoy!

Ginger Ale 

Ingredients: 

Juice and zest from 1 lemon 

Juice from about ¼ inch of fresh ginger root 

2 cups sparkling mineral water (Preferred: Gerolsteiner Mineral Water) 

Sweetener to taste (Suggested: honey, maple syrup, monk fruit)

Instructions:

Zest one lemon. Juice both the zested lemon and ginger root in a juicer. Pour zest and juice into a bottle/container and add sparkling water. Sweeten to taste by adding your sweetener of choice and gently stirring with a spoon. Enjoy!
