Organic Sprouted Walnuts
It only takes one taste of our walnuts to know they're special. Here's why:
Organic – We source organic walnuts that have never been treated with toxic pesticides or herbicides.
Raw – Raw walnuts contain lots of enzymes and vitamins that are great for our bodies. But when they are baked, roasted or steamed, most of those beneficial compounds are destroyed. That's why we never heat our walnuts above 118°F.
Sprouted – We sprout (or "activate") our walnuts in small batches. Sprouting is the time-honored practice of soaking nuts in water to reduce their naturally occurring phytic acids, tannins and enzyme inhibitors. This results in a nut that is much easier to digest, with enzymes and vitamins that our bodies can easily absorb.
Dehydrated – After soaking and sprouting, we gently dehydrate our walnuts at 118°F. This preserves their nutrients, enhances their natural sweetness and gives them a delightfully crisp texture!
